I was lucky enough to review this with Love Books Tours as part of a read-along event. I did fall way behind on posting, but I actually really enjoyed the book and thought it was intriguing and well-written.
I received a signed print copy and a kindle copy, which was perfect as I often switch between physical and digital books if possible.
From the very beginning, I knew this book would be one of those that I'd remember for a long time. It automatically pulled you in with the first line “You killed my wife”. It just got better from there. With dark humour, great first person narrative and little human touches thrown in, it is one of those books that keeps hooking you.
Pig and Mort are a great double act, it's nice to see gay characters like Pig, I didn't realise for ages which is probably the point!
There is a lot going on in this book, Mort sets up his own cyber security company where not everything is done legally, but it gets results. There's corporate espionage, selling insider secrets and a lot of sex (although rarely mentioned in great detail).
From the mystery of the SCs to dealing with low lives, thieves and intelligent individuals as well as falling in love, Mort wants to get to the bottom of how and why his wife was killed, and why it was covered up.
I'll happily recommend this book, it covers a lot of bases and is perfect for those who love unravelling a mystery, spotting clues and finding twists.
Thanks LBT and A J Wilton for the opportunity
